ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's basketball program released its 2018-19 season schedule on Tuesday.
The Lions' 25-game schedule consists of 13 home games, 18 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contests, and seven non-conference matchups.
Penn State Altoona opens its 2018-19 campaign with a pair of non-conference games, traveling to Latrobe to face Saint Vincent College on Tuesday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m. before heading to Frostburg, Md. to take on Frostburg State University on Saturday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m.
After those two games, the Lions host their first home game of the season on Tuesday, November 20 against non-conference opponent Bethany College at 6:00 p.m. in the Adler Arena. Next, Penn State Altoona hits the road to Georgia to compete in the LaGrange College Shootout, where the Lions will play Birmingham-Southern College on Saturday, November 24 at 5:00 p.m. and Berry College on Sunday, November 25 at 4:00 p.m. Penn State Altoona closes the month with its first AMCC game of the season, as the Lions will host nearby conference rival Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday, November 28 at 8:00 p.m.
Penn State Altoona plays five games during December, with the first four straight games being AMCC contests. The Lions travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday, December 1 for a 4:00 p.m. game at La Roche College. On Wednesday, December 5, Penn State Altoona hosts Pitt-Bradford at 8:00 p.m. After that, the Lions hit the road to Erie on Saturday, December 8 to play Penn State Behrend at 8:00 p.m. On Sunday, December 16, Penn State Altoona hosts Medaille College for a 4:00 p.m. tilt. The Lions play non-conference Chatham University at home for a special New Year's Eve game, a 3:00 p.m. tipoff on Monday, December 31.
In January, Penn State Altoona plays nine games – all of which are AMCC matchups. The Lions start 2019 with a home game against Franciscan University on Thursday, January 3 at 8:00 p.m., and then they travel to Buffalo, N.Y. to face D'Youville College on Saturday, January 5 at 3:00 p.m. Men's basketball returns for a pair of home games, playing Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday, January 9 at 8:00 p.m. and Hilbert College on Saturday, January 12 at 3:00 p.m. After that, Penn State Altoona embarks on a stretch of three consecutive road games, traveling to play Franciscan on Wednesday, January 16 at 8:00 p.m., Medaille on Saturday, January 19 at 3:00 p.m., and Mount Aloysius on Wednesday, January 23 at 8:00 p.m. The Lions finish January with one home game and one away game, hosting Penn State Behrend on Saturday, January 26 at 4:00 p.m. and traveling to play Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday, January 30 at 8:00 p.m.
Penn State Altoona wraps up its regular season with five more games in February. The Lions go to Hamburg, N.Y. to play AMCC foe Hilbert at 3:00 p.m. Following that, the team has a two-game homestand, where the Lions will face non-conference opponent Grove City College on Wednesday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. and AMCC opponent D'Youville on Saturday, February 9 at 3:00 p.m. Next, the Lions hit the road to go up against conference foe Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m., and the team finishes its regular season at home on Saturday, February 16 against La Roche at 4:00 p.m.
