HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Penn State Altoona softball doubleheader at Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Hilbert College, scheduled to happen tomorrow, Saturday, April 14, has been postponed due to bad weather.
The Buffalo area forecast is calling for steady rain tonight into tomorrow. A temperature drop tomorrow afternoon is expected to create conditions for a significant accumulation of ice throughout the remainder of the day. Due to the likelihood of these unplayable conditions, Saturday's softball doubleheader has been postponed. The default makeup date for the games would be the following day, Sunday, April 15, but additional ice on Saturday night -- along with the expectation of a large amount of rain all day on Sunday -- has ruled that day out.
A makeup date for the doubleheader will be announced no later than by the end of this weekend.
Check back to the Penn State Altoona Athletics website or social media accounts for any further updates.
The Lady Lions' next scheduled games are Tuesday, April 17, when the team will host AMCC opponent Mount Aloysius College for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
