Ferguson Takes AMCC Golfer of the Week Award

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona sophomore Andrew Ferguson (Altoona, PA/Tyrone) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Golfer of the Week on Monday for his performance in a pair of events last week.

Ferguson, in his first season with the Penn State Altoona men's golf program, helped the Lions to a pair of wins in their first two events of the spring.

In a dual match victory at Penn State Berks last Monday, Ferguson carded an 87 to tie for sixth place individually out of 12 total competitors in the event. In Saturday's first place finish for Penn State Altoona in the Behrend Invitational, he won the individual title out of 26 golfers by shooting 80.

On the week, Ferguson averaged 83.5 in two rounds for the Lions.

Penn State Altoona men's golf returns to the course this Wednesday, April 7, when the Lions will compete in the Penn State Division III Challenge at Toftrees Golf Course in State College.
