Lions 'B' Team Concludes Region V Showcase

PORT CLINTON, Ohio - The Penn State Altoona men's golf team concluded their Region V Showcase today at Catawba Island Club. Penn State Altoona's 'B' team finished in tenth place out of eleven teams. 

Penn State Altoona, which hosted the tournament, shot 663 on the par 72 course. Trine University won the tournament with a two-day score of 613; Otterbein University was the runner-up with 618, and Calvin University rounded out the top three with a score of 627. 

Daniel Batrus (Altoona, PA/Altoona) would be the Lions' top finisher, coming in eighth place on the leaderboard, shooting 5-over on the 72-par course. The junior tallied 156 over the two days to finish in the top ten of almost 70 individuals. 

Austin Duelley (Austin, TX/Lake Travis) tied for 42nd place with a two-round score of 167. Nicky Riscica would finish not too far behind, tying for 44th place with a two-round score of 169. Trent Querry (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) would card an 84 on day two, to finish tied for 62nd place with a total score of 179. Luke Repko (Cresson, PA/Bishop Carroll) tallied 193 shots in two days to finish in 68th place. Arthur Franciosa Jr. (Purchase, NY/Harrison) shot a 78, 6-over par, on day two. 

The Lions will compete in their last tournament of the fall starting next Monday, October 27, as they travel to Guilford College to compete in The O'Briant-Jensen Memorial. Tee time is set for 9:00 a.m.
