Men's Golf Tied for 16th Through Two Days at Camp Lejeune
JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - The Penn State Altoona men's golf team continued competing in the 53rd Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship on Saturday, when the Lions played in day two of the three-day tournament.
Penn State Altoona shot 310 as a team on the par 72 Paradise Point Golf Course, and the Lions now have a two-round team score of 609 to tie for 16th place out of 24 teams.
Oglethorpe University leads the pack with a two-round score of 578 on the par 72 course. Drew University finished the day as runners up with a two-round score of 579.
Nicky Riscica (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) had the Lions' low of the round, shooting one below par with a 71. By the conclusion of Saturday's round, Riscica was in a tie for seventh place out of 118 individuals with his two-day score of 143.
Peter Nusbaum (Pittsboro, NC/Thales Academy) fired a 77 on Saturday and is in a tie for 51st place with a two-round score of 151.
Joey Sabol (State College, PA/State College) carded an 81 on day two, tying for 95th place with a two-round score of 158. Daniel Batrus (Altoona, PA/Altoona) shot 81 on Saturday, tying for 97th place with a two-day score of 159.
Nicholas Helsley (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) carded an 86 for Saturday's round, tallying a two-day score of 162 to tie for 104th place.
The third and final day of the Camp Lejeune tournament is tomorrow, Sunday, April 12, with tee off scheduled for 8 a.m.
