Men’s Cross Country Earns 14th Place at Dickinson Invite
NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's cross country team competed in the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational's 8K race on Saturday at Big Spring High School, and the Lions finished in 14th place out of 19 scoring teams with a team score of 145.
Messiah University won the 8K with a score of 19, Misericordia University was the runner-up with 23, and Elizabethtown College rounded out the top three spots with 33.
Zach Halama had the fastest time of the day for Penn State Altoona, as he placed 76th out of 161 runners in the 8K with a time of 30:07.6. Brandon Lyle took 86th place with a time of 30:43.0, and Ethan Schield (Roaring Brook, PA/North Pocono) also placed within the top 100 runners after clocking in at 31:28.0 for 98th place.
Jordan Long came in 106th place with a time of 31:43.4, and Jack Higgins (Portland, OR/Riverdale) was 111th after finishing in 32:04.0. Blaise Ventura placed 150th with a time of 38:05.4, and Evan Wagenmann took 151st in 38:09.3.
Next up, the Penn State Altoona men's cross country team will travel to Pittsburgh on Saturday, October 11 to compete in the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational at Schenley Park. The race's start time is set for 10 a.m.
