Men’s Cross Country Records 28th-Place Finish at Gettysburg Invite
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's cross country team raced in Gettysburg College's Aubrey Shenk Invitational on Saturday morning, and the Lions finished in 28th place out of 34 teams in the 8K run.
Penn State Altoona finished the day with a score of 701 for 28th. Lebanon Valley College placed first with a 56, Division I Saint Bonaventure University was the runner-up with 68, and Georgetown University Running Club was third with 69.
Zach Halama had the fastest time of the day for Penn State Altoona, clocking in at 28:07.3 in the 8K to secure 140th place out of 316 individual competitors. Brandon Lyle (Altoona, PA/Altoona) was 159th after finishing in 28:34.8, and Jordan Long placed 195th with a time of 29:28.7.
Ethan Schield (Roaring Brook, PA/North Pocono) earned 205th place after finishing in 29:39.4, and Jack Higgins (Portland, OR/Riverdale) was 254th with a time of 31:17.6. Aiden Pimentel (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) took 265th after recording a time of 31:43.7. Evan Wagenmann (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) came in 275th with a time of 32:30.1, and Blaise Ventura (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) was 290th after finishing in 34:05.7.
The Penn State Altoona men's cross country team gets back in action on Saturday, November 1, when the Lions will compete in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships at 11 a.m. in Erie.
