Men's Cross Country Takes 26th at Mideast Regional Championships
NEWVILLE, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's cross country team nabbed 26th out of 31 scoring teams in the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships on Saturday morning.
The Lions posted a team score of 781 to finish ahead of 27th placed Lancaster Bible.
John Hopkins finished in first place with a team score of 23, Carnegie Mellon placed second with 64 points, and Lebanon Valley rounded out the top three with a score of 121.
Brandon Lyle (Altoona, PA/Altoona) was the Lions' top finisher with a time of 29:20.28 to finish in 137th place.
Zach Halama (Northumberland, PA/Martin Luther King) finished in 144th place after clocking a time of 29:39.76, Ethan Schield (Roaring Brook, PA/North Pocono) finished in 167th place after clocking a time of 30:34.72, and Jack Higgins (Portland, OR/Riverdale) finished in 177th place after clocking a time of 31:12.47.
Jordan Long (Airville, PA/Kennard-Dale) clocked a time of 32:06.82, finishing in 190th place. Evan Wagenmann (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) finished in 194th place after recording a time of 32:13.41. Aiden Pimentel (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) was not too far behind, clocking a time of 32:13.94.
