Mounties Edge Lions in AMCC Women’s Invitational
CRESSON, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's golf team finished as the runner-up in Saturday's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Invitational, which was hosted by Mount Aloysius College at Summit Country Club.
Mount Aloysius won the event with a team score of 416 on the par 72 course, while Penn State Altoona took second place with 438. Fellow AMCC schools Carlow University and Hilbert College also had golfers compete in the tournament as individuals.
Gabby Catalogna (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) was Penn State Altoona's top finisher, carding a 93 to place third out of 15 individuals in the round. Alexis Peacock (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) shot 102 to come in seventh place.
Clarissa Long (Altoona, PA/Altoona) took 10th place with a score of 108, and Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) was 15th with 135.
Penn State Altoona women's golf's next tournament is Sunday, October 19 and Monday, October 20, when the Lions will travel to Mount Wolf, Pa. to play in York College's Spartan Shootout. The two-day tournament will be held at Royal Manchester Golf Links.
