MT. WOLF, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's golf team was back in action on Sunday, competing in day one of the Spartan Shootout, hosted by York College at the Royal Manchester Golf Links.

The Lions competed as a trio of individuals, sending Gabby Catalogna (Venetia, PA/Peters Township), Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle), and Alexis Peacock (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) to golf in the tournament.

Sunday's round was cut short due to darkness. In the team standings, host York was in first place, Goucher College was second, and Juniata College and Hood College were third and fourth, respectively.

Catalogna had the Lions' best score to par in Sunday's suspended action on the par 72 course, shooting 14-over par through 14 holes. Peacock was 28-over through 15, and Franks was 48-over through 16.

After competing in day one of the York Shootout, the Penn State Altoona women's golf team will return home and will prepare for the inaugural Colonial Women's Golf Conference Championships on Monday, October 27 and Tuesday, October 28 at Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford, Pa.
