Lions Open The Ruckus in Sixth

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Penn State Altoona women's golf team opened the spring stretch of their 2025-26 season competing in The Ruckus, a two-day tournament, at the Williamsburg National Golf Club.  

Penn State Altoona shot 471 as a team on the par 72 course to place sixth. Drew University finished day one in first place with a score of 324, Bridgewater College finished second with 342, and Salisbury University finished third with 359.  

Alexis Peacock (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) was the Lions' top finisher, shooting 30-over par, placing 23rd with 102.

Clarissa Long (Altoona, PA/Altoona) placed 28th with a round one score of 114. Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) tallied 116 shots in day one. Taylor Bezdek (Great Falls, VA/Dominion) carded a 139 in round one to finish day one in 31st place.

The Penn State Altoona women's golf team will compete in day two of The Ruckus tomorrow. Tee time is set for 9:30 a.m.
