Women's Golf Continues Competing in Camp Lejeune Tourney

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - The Penn State Altoona women's golf team competed on the second day of the 53rd Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship at Paradise Point Golf Course Saturday morning. 

Penn State Altoona was represented by three golfers who competed as individuals in the tournament.   

Oglethorpe University finished the day in first place after shooting 303 on the par 71 course for a two-day score of 607, while Virginia Wesleyan University finished runners up on the day with a score of 317 for a two-day score of 628.   

Alexis Peacock (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) was the Lions' top finisher on day two, shooting 20-over-par for a round two score of 91 to finish tied for 47th place individually. Peacock's score throughout the two days of the tournament was 183.  

Clarissa Long (Altoona, PA/Altoona) finished in 55th place with 100, with her two-round score standing at 208. Alyssa Franks (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) finished in 57th place with 107; her two-day score was 216.  

Penn State Altoona women's golf will compete in the third and final day of the 53rd Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Golf Championship tomorrow, with day three of the tournament scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m.
