Women’s Tennis Defeated 7-2 at Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg on Sunday afternoon at the Greensburg Racquet Club.

Pitt-Greensburg (4-0, 4-0 AMCC) stayed undefeated on the season by winning two out of three in doubles, then taking five out of six singles matches.

Penn State Altoona (1-2, 1-2 AMCC) picked up one point with an 8-4 victory in the No. 1 doubles match, courtesy of the duo of Jessica Stevens (Altoona, PA/Altoona)/Victoria Acker (Cresson, PA/Penn Cambria). The win was the pair's first together this season.

The Lady Lions grabbed their second point in the No. 6 singles match, where Elani Etter (Franklin, TN) registered her first collegiate win with a 6-4, 6-3 decision over her opponent.

Penn State Altoona women's tennis has two more matches remaining on its 2021 schedule, both of which will be important for its conference tournament hopes. The Lady Lions' next match is Sunday, March 28, when the team will travel to play AMCC foe La Roche University at 1:00 p.m. The squad's final regular season match is also on the road, a Saturday, April 10 matchup against AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend at 3:00 p.m.
