Women’s Tennis Tops Carlow 5-2 in Season Opener

PITTSBURGH – Penn State Altoona women's tennis began its 2025-26 season with an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference road match on Saturday, when the Lions pulled out a 5-2 victory over Carlow University at Alpha Tennis and Fitness.

Penn State Altoona (1-0, 1-0 AMCC) nabbed the first point of the match by winning two out of three in doubles, and the Lions prevailed in four singles matches to hand Carlow (0-1, 0-1 AMCC) the loss.

In No. 2 doubles, the tandem of Sienna Fell (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan)/Abigail Morgan (Orrville, OH/Orrville) won 6-2, and the duo of Lexi Colaianni (Pittsburgh, PA/Kiski Area)/Daniel Fulton (Milford, DE/Milford) posted a 6-1 victory in the No. 3 doubles match.

In singles, Colaianni blanked her opponent, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 3 spot, and Fell won 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 4 match. At No. 5, Morgan earned a 6-0, 6-2 triumph, and Fulton won a 6-0, 6-0 whitewash in No. 6 singles.

Penn State Altoona women's tennis wraps up its weekend road trip tomorrow, Sunday, August 31, with a 2 p.m. match at non-conference foe Waynesburg University.
