NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. - Penn State Altoona sophomore Abigail Morgan (Orrville, OH/Orrville) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week for women's tennis on Monday afternoon.  

Morgan had solid performances in both singles and doubles last week as she helped Penn State Altoona to go 2-0 against AMCC foe Pitt Greensburg and non-conference opponent Penn College.  

In Friday's 6-1 victory over Penn College, Morgan would blank her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in No. 5 singles.  

Against Pitt Greensburg, Morgan would rack up wins in both doubles and singles as the Lions would beat the Bobcats 5-2. In No. 1 doubles, Morgan would win 6-3. In No. 4 singles, Morgan would win her second set 6-1 and the tiebreaker set 10-8.  

Penn State Altoona women's tennis is 11-1 overall (4-1 AMCC) so far this season and returns to action this Friday, October 10, as they travel to Harrisburg to face Penn State Harrisburg. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
