Ulmer Named AMCC Defensive Player of the Week

LATROBE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's volleyball middle hitter Jayden Ulmer (Williamsport, PA / Williamsport) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Defensive Player of the Week, after the league announced its weekly awards Monday afternoon.  

Ulmer totaled three solo blocks and 13 block assists during a 2-0 week of AMCC conference play for the Lions last week. 

In a 3-1 victory against La Roche last Wednesday, Ulmer had one solo block and seven block assists.  

The freshman middle hitter followed up that performance with two solo blocks and six block assists in a three-set sweep of Penn State Behrend.  

Through 24 matches this season, Ulmer leads the conference in block assists with 52, total blocks with 66, and blocks per set with 1.02. 

Penn State Altoona women's volleyball is 13-11 (5-2 in the AMCC) and returns to action tomorrow, Tuesday, November 4, against AMCC foe Pitt-Greensburg in the Adler Arena.
