Women’s Wrestling Hosts First-Ever Home Meet
ALTOONA, Pa. – For the first time in campus history, Penn State Altoona hosted an NCAA women's wrestling meet, as the Lions took on non-conference opponent Bethany College in a dual Wednesday night in Adler Arena.
Penn State Altoona dropped its 2025-26 home opener to the visiting Bison by a score of 39-10. Naomi Nachmias (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) and Richele Reyes (Buckingham, UK/Alconbury) produced wins for the Lions to highlight the meet.
Nachmias started the evening with a victory in the 103 bout, defeating Bethany's McKenna Acampora by fall in 4:08 to make it 5-0. The Bison nabbed a 10-5 advantage with forfeit wins at 110 and 117 after that, before an 11-0 tech fall victory by Reyes over Bethany's Malia Tocco at 124 cut the visitors' lead to 10-9.
In the next bout, 131, Penn State Altoona picked up a point on the scoreboard courtesy of Gianna Slusser (Raleigh, NC/Garner Magnet), but Bethany got the best of the match, 4-1, when Rosemary Dodd downed Slusser 14-4 by tech fall. The Bison scored five more points at 138, then got another five in the 145 match when Jasmine Craddock handed the Lions' Aliana Romero (Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) a loss by fall in 5:30.
Bethany recorded five more points at 207 to close the meet with a 39-10 victory over the Lions.
Penn State Altoona women's wrestling returns to the road for its next meet, as the Lions travel to take on non-conference foe Marymount University in a dual this Saturday, November 15 at 4 p.m.
