Women's Wrestling Downed by Bison

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Penn State Altoona women's wrestling team traveled to face Bethany College Thursday night, when they lost to the Bison 44-5.  

Naomi Nachmias (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) started the dual with a win for Penn State Altoona, beating Bethany's Mckenna Acampora by a 5-2 decision to make it 3-1 for the Lions. 

The Bison took a 16-3 lead after forfeits in the 110, 117, and 124 classes.  

In the following 131 bout, Richele Reyes (Buckingham, UK/Alconbury) lost by technical fall to increase the gap to 20-4.  

In the 138 match, Gianna Slusser (Raleigh, NC/Garner Magnet) lost by technical fall to make the score 24-5.  

After a series of forfeits by the Lions, the meet concluded with a 44-5 victory in favor of the Bison.  

Penn State Altoona women's wrestling's next competition is the Golden Wolves Open hosted by Alvernia University on Sunday, December 14. The open is set to take place at 10:00 a.m.
