Nachmias, Slusser Named NWCA Scholar All-Americans

MANHEIM, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's wrestlers Naomi Nachmias (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) and Gianna Slusser (Raleigh, NC/Garner Magnet) were awarded for their wrestling and academic performance when National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) named them Scholar All-Americans.  

There were 540 student-athletes from 92 institutions recognized.  

Nachmias is an Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education major in her second semester at Penn State Altoona. The freshman finished the 2025-26 season with a 16-8 overall record. The freshman took second place in the 103 weight class at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships. She ranks first on the Lions in dual meet wins (13) while also being tied for second in wins by fall (7) and third in total wins (16) and wins by tech fall (2). 

Slusser is a Liberal Arts major in her second semester at Penn State Altoona. The freshman had a 19-10 overall record for the Lions in the 2025-26 season. The freshman won the AMCC title in the 131 weight class bracket during the conference championships. Slusser leads the Lions in total wins (19) and wins by fall (8), tying for second in dual meet wins (12), and also ranks second in wins by tech fall (4).
