Men's Soccer Loses to Bobcats
GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona men's soccer team traveled to face Pitt Greensburg in another Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game Tuesday evening. Despite an even game in terms of shots, the Lions would lose 3-0 to the Bobcats.
The Lions (1-8, 0-2 AMCC) would get off to a decent start offensively, getting four shots off in the first 25 minutes, forcing two saves from goalkeeper Nick Braun. Unfortunately for the Lions, the Bobcats (4-4-3, 1-0 AMCC) would be more clinical with their chances. Lucas Pittman would put in the first goal of the contest for the Bobcats in the 27th minute.
Six minutes later, Pitt Greensburg would add to their lead through another Lucas Pittman goal. The score would remain at 2-0 through the break. Fifteen minutes after the break, Pitt Greensburg would get their final goal of the contest as Cam Loveland would score to make it 3-0.
Although the scoreline reflected a dominant offensive performance from the Bobcats, the stats would be fairly even. Pitt Greensburg would hold a slim advantage in shots, nine to Penn State Altoona's seven. Shots on goal would be even at five.
Goalkeeper Alejandro Monjarretz (Managua, Nicaragua / St. Augustine Preparatory School) would get the start, making two saves between the sticks. Leo Galleta (Kings Park, NY / Smithtown West) and Felipe Velarde (Panama / Colegio Real de Panama) would both each get one shot on target, while Matias Harte (State College, PA / State College) would finish with two shots on goal.
Up next, the Penn State Altoona men's soccer team faces local rival Mount Aloysius at Spring Run Stadium. The game will be a Blair County Food / Ivyside Eats Food Drive. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
